Argentina vs Nigeria Preview
Maradona is doing things his own way and how far Argentina goes in the tournament will depend on how well the coach can marshall his troops and if he organises the team to play to their strengths.
With qualifying aside, one would expect Argentina to bring their A game to South Africa and on the world stage they are typically a side that delivers early in the tournament.
Quality players Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain will be a handful up front for Nigeria in the Group B opener and with Carlos Tevez in the wings the Argentinians have plenty of scoring options.
Facundo Bertoglio and Maximiliano Rodriguez scored two goals each in recent warm up games.
The Nigerians are one of the least favoured African nations to win the World Cup according to bookies but the enter the tournament on the back of some good recent form which will have them full of hope early on.
Players such as Nwanko Kanu, John Obi Mikel, Danny Shittu and Yakubu Aiyegbeni are very attacking and their Premier League experience will assist them greatly at this tournament.
Nigeria have plenty of offensive talent but down back they can leak goals at times and against the likes of Messi and co they could be found wanting.

Argentina have been scoring goals aplenty of late, albeit against minnows, but on the big stage in front of the eyes of the world they will be out in full force. The South Americans have the offensive talent to put plenty of pressure on the Nigerian defence and they look the goods here.
