Sri Lanka are through to a Semi-Final clash with New Zealand after crushing England by 10 wickets at R.Premadasa Stadium on Saturday.

England made 6/229 off their allotted 50 overs and Jonathan Trott 86 (115) top scored for the Poms while Muttiah Muralidaran 2/54 was best of the bowlers with a couple of wickets.

New Zealand have defeated South Africa by 49 runs in their World Cup Quarter Final clash at Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

The Kiwis made 8/221 off their allotted 50 overs with Jesse Ryder 83 (121) top scoring for New Zealand and Morne Morkel 3/46 best of the South African bowlers with three wickets.

Australia’s bowling attack wasn’t up to the task as India put them out of the Cricket World Cup with a well earned 5 wicket win at Sardar Patel Stadium on Thursday.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting top scored with a century smacking 104 (118 balls) as the Aussies made 260 runs off their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan crush West Indies by 10 wickets in first Quarter Final

Pakistan have embarrassed the West Indies with a 10 wicket victory in their World Cup Quarter Final match at Shere Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.

The West Indies were all out for a pitiful 112 runs in only 20.5 overs with Shivnarine Chanderpaul finishing on an unbeaten 44 (106 balls) while Pakistani bowler Shahid Afridi 4/30 grabbed four wickets.

Kumar Sangakkara 111 (128 balls) hit a century for Sri Lanka as they scored 265 for the loss of 9 wickets with Kiwi bowler Tim Southee 3/63 grabbing three wickets for New Zealand.

Ireland score 6 wicket win over Netherlands

The luck of the Irish proved too good for the Netherlands as they lost to Ireland by 6 wickets in their World Cup match at Eden Gardens on Friday.

The Netherlands scored a very good 306 runs with Ryan ten Doeschate 106 (108 balls) making his second ton of the tournament and Peter Borren 84 (82 balls) chipped in nicely with a great knock for the Dutch.
