An Alesana Tuilagi hat-trick for Samoa helped them to a crushing 49-12 win over Namibia in their Pool D match at Rotorua International Stadium on Wednesday.
Canada was responsible for an early 2011 Rugby World Cup upset when they proved too good for Tonga in their Pool A match, winning 25-20 at the Northland Events Centre after leading 10-0 at one stage of the match.
Scotland defeated Georgia 15-6 with Dan Parks scoring all the points in their Pool B match at Invercargill to claim their second win of the Rugby World Cup tournament. Read more »

Australia turned it on in the second half Pool C match against a determined Italy side to open their their World Cup campaign with an excellent 32-6 win at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland after being level 6 points apiece at half-time.
In the second Pool C game played yesterday Ireland were forced to work hard to score a 22-10 win against the United States at Stadium Taranaki in New Plymouth.
Reigning world champion South Africa came from 16-10 down at the 64-minute of their Pool D match against Wales to score a 17-16 victory at Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington. Read more »

Host nation New Zealand scored an easy 31 point win over Tonga at Eden Park in Auckland to open the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
In other matches, France beat Japan by 26 points at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, Scotland defeated Romania by ten points at Rugby Park Stadium in Invercargill.
England was made to work hard Argentina before winning by 4 points at Otago Stadium in Dunedin, while Fiji were too good for Namibia in a high scoring match at Rotorua International Stadium in Rotorua, winning by 24 points. Read more »

India has capped off a wonderful tournament by winning the 2011 Cricket World Cup after defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the 2011 World Cup Final at Wankede Stadium on Saturday.

India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs in the second Semi Final of the World Cup played Punjab Cricket Association Stadium on Wednesday and will meet Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup Final on Satyurday.
The little maestro Sachin Tendulkar scored 85 (115 balls) for India as they ammassed 260 runs for the loss of just 5 wickets, with Wahab Riaz 5/46 snaring 5 scalps for the Pakistanis.
In reply, Pakistan made 231 runs with Mohammad Hafeez top scoring with 43 runs (59 balls) and five Indian bowlers managed 2 wickets each. Read more »

Sri Lanka is the first team through to the 2011 World Cup Cticket Final after beating New Zealand by 5 wickets at R.Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.
Top scorer for New Zealand was Scott Tyris with 57 runs (77 balls) as the kiwis were skittled all out for 217 off 48.5 overs.
Tillakaratne Dilshan managed 73 runs (93 balls) for Sri Lanka as they reached 220 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 47.5 overs. Read more »
