Argentina is undefeated in four World Cup matches and they finished on top of Group F with 9 points as expected, following wins over Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran & Nigeria, before requiring extra-time to get past Switzerland in the Round of 16 matches.

The brilliant Lionel Messi has scored 4 of Argentina’s seven World Cup goals and they have conceded three goals along the way.

Argentina vs Belgium match prediction

An interesting match awaits between two sides who remain undefeated and who both required extra-time in the Round of 16 to advance to the Quarter Finals.

Superstar Lionel Messi has played a lone hand for Argentina at this tournament, scoring four goals and providing the pass to goal for Di Maria to slot home the winner in the Round of 16 match against Switzerland.

Defensively the Argentinians have been found wanting at times and if Belgium can put the brakes on Messi then they have the capabilities to produce an upset, unless Argentina can find another avenue to goal.

Belgium has probably been more impressive than Argentina at this tournament, especially down back, but they will need to be at their absolute best to beat a strong South American side like the Argentinians at the World Cup.

While we think Belgium is clearly value in this match at their current odds of $3.75, it would take a brave man to bet against Argentina at this stage of the tournament, especially when it is being played in South America.

If you like the Belgians then consider the Win/Draw at $1.68, but all things being equal we expect Argentina to get the job done and find themselves in the Semi Finals yet again.
