An interesting grouping with Belgium back at the World Cup after a 12 year sojourn and warm favourites to win this group.
Belgium will be competing in their first World Cup appearance since 2002 and their qualification form suggests they are the one to beat in Group H at Brazil.
Russia had an impressive path to the World Cup and will be more than competitive at the group stage, while South Korea are capable on their day and appear over the odds on their recent World Cup form.
Belgium is $1.67 in early markets to win Group H with Russia kept safe at $3.20, while you can get $9.00 about South Korea which is value if they can find their mojo in Brazil.
Algeria $23.00 is given little chance in Group H and are rank outsiders to go through to the next stage.
2014 World Cup – Group H odds
$9.00 South Korea
Odds subject to change and were correct at 8th April 2014.
We fancy Belgium and South Korea to get through to the next round.
2014 World Cup Group H Teams & Fixtures
Coach: Vahid Halilhodzic
Gun player: Madjid Bougherra
Best World Cup result: Group stages 1982, 1986, 2010
Algeria were less than impressive in the African Nations Cup and they got to Brazil on away goals against Burkina Faso, a country who have never made it to a World Cup. The African side will find it tough in this group and would have to improve significantly to make an impression at this tournament.
Coach: Marc Wilmots
Gun player: Eden Hazard
Best World Cup result: Fourth 1986
Belgium is back at the World Cup again after being away for over a decade and they have a talented squad who can make their presence felt in Brazil. A focus on youth has seen the Belgium team find its mojo again during qualification where they scored a number of impressive victories against the likes of Scotland, Croatia and Wales. There’s much to like about Belgium and they are deserved favourites for this group.
Coach: Fabio Capello
Gun player: Alexander Kokorin
Best World Cup result: Fourth 1966 (as the USSR)
Russia will be hosting the 2018 World Cup and will be keen on a good showing in Brazil, particularly since they have played only one of the last four tournaments and not progressed beyond the group stage the 1986. Young Alexander Kokorin is an exciting talent and with goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev and striker Alexander Kerzhakov at the fore, Russia will prove a tough nut to crack in this group..
Coach: Hong Myung-bo
Gun player: Son Heung-min
Best World Cup result: Fourth 2002
South Korea reached the Semi Finals on home soil in 2002 before losing to Uruguay in the ROund of 16 four years ago. The Koreans are ones to watch in this group as they have the creative ability to get them to the Round of 16.
