Warm Group E favourites France $1.80 got through qualification by the skin of their teeth after coming from two goals in the first play-off leg to beat Ukraine.
The French won this tournament back in 1988 during a purple patch for the national team, however they have been nowhere near as strong on the world stage in recent times.
Switzerland $3.60 had an easy qualification through the European zone and will find their opponents on South American soil much tougher, while Ecuador $5.00 qualified for Brazil on goal difference ahead of Uruguay and could be the smokeys in this group.
The rank outsider in this group is Honduras at $21.00.

2014 World Cup Group E Teams & Fixtures
Coach: Reinaldo Rueda
Gun player: Antonio Valencia
Best World Cup result: Last 16 2006
Ecuador was beaten by Chile in their final qualifier and they gained automatic qualification on goal difference alone ahead of Uruguay. The attacking skills of Antonio Valencia will be pivotal to the chances of Ecuador, along with the likes of Cristian Noboa and Felipe Caicedo.
Coach: Didier Deschamps
Gun player: Franck Ribery
Best World Cup result: Winners 1998
At one stage it looked as though France would miss its first World Cup since 1994 when they went down 2-0 in their first play-off match against the Ukraine, but they bounced back to win the second leg 3-0 to go through 3-2 on aggregate. The classy Franck Ribery is France’s major driving force and they also have quality players in Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Valbuena to make the French a deserved favourite in this group.
Coach: Luis Fernando Suarez
Gun player: Wilson Palacios
Best World Cup result: Group stages 1982, 2010
Honduras will be competing in their second successive World Cup but have made a number of changes since South Africa four years ago. Strong home form seen them enjoy a fruitful qualifying campaign, booking a spot in this tournament with a 2-2 draw against Jamaica in the final match.
Coach: Ottmar Hitzfeld
Gun player: Xherdan Shaqiri
Best World Cup result: Quarter-finals 1934, 1938, 1954
Experienced coach Hitzfeld guided the Swiss to probably the easiest qualification route of all the European teams. Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri is an exciting talent for Switzerland and they possess plenty of young talent who appear ready to show their wares on the world stage.
