2011 Cricket World Cup – Group A Teams

Two Groups of seven teams will make up Group A and Group B of the 2011 Cricket World Cup which will be held in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from 19th February to 2nd April 2011.

Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Canada make up Group A and the Australian team is early favourite to win the group at leading bookmaker Centrebet.

The top four teams in Group A will move on to the Quarter-Finals commencing on 23rd March in Dhaka and face the top four teams of Group B.

The winner of Group A will play the fourth placed team in Group B, while the Group A runner-up will face Group B third placegetter. The Group A third placegetter will meet the runner-up in Group B while the fourth placed team in Group A will tackle the team that finished top in Group B.

The first Group A match will take place between New Zealand and Kenya on Sunday 20th February at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India.
