Uruguay and Germany are set to meet in the play-off for third place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa on Sunday 11th July at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

WON 3-0 South Africa
WON 1-0 Mexico
WON 2-1 South Korea
WON 1-1 Ghana (Won 4-2 on Penalties after extra time)
Lost 2-3 Netherlands

Uruguay lost their first match of the tournament when beaten by the Netherlands in the Semi-Final and a win in this match will have them finishing third which would be a great result for the South American team.

Germany

Lost 0-1 Serbia
WON 1-0 Ghana

Lost 0-1 Spain

Germany have had a wonderful tournament but they were completely outplayed by Spain in the Semi-Final and the interest for the Germans here will be seeing if they can conjur up a couple of goals for Miroslav Klose to make him the highest all time goal scorer at the World Cup.

Uruguay vs Germany match prediction

This game is merely a curtain raiser to the main event on Monday and therefore the shackles should come off and make for a very attacking game and the prospect of a few goals, especially with Klose so near to the all time World Cup goal scoring record for Germany.

On what we have seen to date Germany should win this match but it depends how motivated they are compared to Uruguay.

We fancy a few goals to be scored and believe taking the 3 goals or more bet is a safer option than the Germans for a win at a similar price.
