Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1 for Quarter Finals spot

The Netherlands got the job done against Slovakia to win 2-1 in their Round of 16 knockout match of the 2010 World Cup at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa.

The Netherlands were always in control of the match after a quality strike from Arjen Robben gave the Dutch an early lead over Slovakia after just 18 minutes and Bert van Marwijk’s Oranje were never really in doubt  in their quest for a Quarter Finals berth.

A Wesley Sneijder goal on 84 minutes for the Netherlands secured the win before Slovakia hit back with a late Robert Vittek penalty at the death to give Slovakia a consolation goal.
