Group D – Germany and Ghana Qualify

Germany and Ghana have finished first and second in Group D to qualify for the knockout Round of 16 with Australia and Serbia both eliminated.

Australia defeated Serbia 2-1 with two second-half goals from Tim Cahill and Brett Holman before Marko Pantelic hit back for Serbia while Germany beat Ghana 1-0 with a Mesut Ozil cracker at the 60 minute mark of the second-half to secure top spot.

Germany finished on top of Group D with 6 points while Ghana and Australia were both equal on 4 points with the African side going through with a three goal better goal difference and Serbia ended up on the bottom with three points.
