Spain scored a comfortable 2-0 win over Honduras in their second round Group H match of the 2010 World Cup at Ellis Park Stadium on Tuesday.
David Villa scored a goal in each half for Spain and he also missed a penalty just after the hour mark which would have been a hat-trick for the Spanish striker.
Spain now has 3 points along with Switzerland and will be looking for a win against Chile in their next match while Honduras are out of the tournament with no points from two games and they will play Switzerland in their final match.
Spain controlled the game as expected but just like their first game they overpassed many times and failed to take advantage of all their good work with the ball.
Spain were rewarded on 17 minutes when David Villa scored a wonderful strikers goal after beating Chavez and placing his shot in the back of the net.
Honduras were continually under the pump from Spain and were fortunate to only be one goal down at half-time.
First half rating (Out of 5): Spain 4.0 – Honduras 2.5
Spain continued on the offensive in the second half and they squandered many chances by always going for one more pass when they would have been better off having a crack at goal.
Villa again showed why he is so highly rated when he scored another top goal after a pass from Navas and Spain were never going to lose from there.
A penalty on 62 minutes offered Villa the chance for a hat-trick but he pushed it wide after having the kepper going the wrong way.
Spain were unable to score any more goals and ran out 2-0 winners.

Spain were a different class to Honduras and they certainly get plenty of the ball but they problem they may face against the better sides is actually converting against more talented defences.
Front up to Chile next in what has the makings of a great game.
Honduras battled hard against a much better team and they can hold their heads high as they were not disgraced.
Cannot qualify for the round of 16 now as they have failed to get any points from their first two games.
