Ghana and Australia World Cup form

Ghana

WCI Rating: 6.0
1st half: 3.0
2nd half: 3.0

Ghana were more than handy in all parts of the ground and on the break they very unpredictable, however they will need to attack more through the middle in coming games so they can have shots from decent positions.

Australia
Germany 4-0 Australia
8m L. Podolski (Ger)
27m M. Klose (Ger)
68m T. Müller (Ger)
70m Cacau (Ger)

WCI Rating: 5
1st half: 2.5
2nd half: 2.5

Australia’s only saving grace after the Germany shellacking was that they are still in the tournament to fight another day.

The Socceroos defence was cut apart by Germany and the Aussies also found it nigh on impossible to put a dent in the German’s defensive structure, apart from an early effort that wasn’t to be.

Ghana vs Australia Preview

Ghana will be happy to already have the three points safely tucked away and will be well aware a victory against the Socceroos will go a long way to getting them through to the next stage, depending on how their final match with Germany goes.

Australia has to improve on their opening round effort because they could not play any worse. One would like to think the Socceroos will come out and display the kind of football that got them to the World Cup in the first place.

Ghana vs Australia Match Prediction

Australia must win it’s as simple as that or their World Cup dream is over.

Let’s hope Verbeek gives the Socceroos every chance to get the job done with the most attacking formation possible and the Socceroos have a win and a draw in their last two games played against Ghana.

The Ghanians will see this as their best chance of getting through to the next round and will fancy their chances somewhat on Australia’s effort against the Germans.

Expect Australia to be a more cohesive unit against Ghana and as much as we would dearly love them to win tonight, we think this game will end up being a drawn match.
