England vs United States Preview
England had the ideal South Africa campaign and they scored the most goals in their qualifying group with 34 in total. The Three Lions comfortably qualified for the 2010 World Cup grabbing nine wins in a row before losing their final qualifying match against the Ukraine.
Ledley King, Peter Crouch and Glen Johnson all scored goals in recent practice games.
In the group phase of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, England beat Paraguay (1-0), Trinidad (2-0) and drew with Sweden (2-2) to move on to the next round.
The USA had an excellent World Cup qualifying and they defeated both Honduras and Mexico with solid performances.
A defeat of Spain in the 2009 Confederations Cup along the way will have the USA quietly confident of a good showing in South Africa.
Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez have scored multiple goals of late and the Americans have found form at the right time.
In 2006 the USA lost to Czechoslovakia (0-3), drew Italy (1-1) and lost to Ghana (1-2) to finish on the bottom of Group E.

The USA have the experience of playing in altitude in the 2009 Confederations Cup and they pulled off a win over Spain under similar conditions. With the game being played in Rustenberg it gives the Americans a slight advantage over England from that perspective. At first glance the USA look value at their $6.50 especially if you consider backing the USA at the handicap with a head start.
Depending how the game pans out both sides could settle on a draw if the situation arises and if you fancy the United States at all then backing them at the +0.5 could be an option.
Having said that, England have taken all before them of late and they enter this World Cup on the back of a very solid preparation and all things being equal they should snare the victory here on talent alone.
